The National Organization for Students Studying Entertainment Management
MEISA, The Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association, was formed in 1979 to bring students together with industry professionals and educators in order to promote career preparation for the music industry. Opportunities in the music industry and music industry education have grown with time, and so has MEISA. Today, MEISA members can be found in more than 50 colleges and universities across the nation.
MEISA is involved on a local, regional, and national level. Members can gain both experience and the opportunity to network with industry professionals on all three of these levels. In addition, MEISA also provides the opportunity for career and internship information, recognition, community involvement, performance, travel, leadership positions, and of course, fun!
Regional conferences are held in the fall, and the national conference is held in the spring. During these conferences, MEISA members participate in a wide variety of workshops, panels, and career fairs to engage them in the music and entertainment industries, as well as allow them to connect with industry professionals and other students from across the region or the country.
Local events may include seminars, workshops, tours, campus and off-campus concerts, community service projects, mixers, career fairs, contests, and student-run companies such as record labels, publishing companies, and promotion companies.
National MEISA member dues are currently $18. per year. All MEISA members must register individually online on the MEIEA website, www.MEIEA.org/join.html. Dues may be paid at any time and entitle each member to a calendar year of membership.
